Blank page. A heater in the study,
a bowl of chocolate and a break
in intensive thought. I exhale stress
and draw solace from night that inverts
daytime exposures into dark streets
and spotlight windows for resting, and thieves.
This hush as my harbour, I sink in,
traffic-lighting all the day’s deeds
into a box with the label “Today”.
It is Tuesday night. Another night
and here I am again, with you,
my blank white paperless page.
